Doshinkan Aikido International (DAI) is an internationally based organization, with affiliations throughout the United States, Japan, Ukraine, and Hong Kong. The DAI is headquartered in Philadelphia, PA, as a non-profit organization and overseen by a board of trustees. DAI provides Aikido and Weapons instruction developed by chief instructor, Yukio Utada Kancho. Utada Sensei brings over 40 years of training experience to DAI and its programs. Dojo Membership DAI provides international recognition of Aikido dojos regardless of size. Member dojo are listed for free on DAI web site: www.dai-aikido.org/affiliates. Additional benefits include: An online calendar of yearly DAI Events, online information and registration for all DAI events, DAI Affiliate Dojo online listings, DAI Handbook, DAI online store, DAI Affiliate Dojo forms. DAI Senior Instructor Visits The DAI can provide Senior Instructor visits to DAI Affiliated Dojos to further their understanding and proficiency of Utada Sensei's teachings. Dan/Kyu Rank Tests and Promotions DAI has established standardized requirements for Dan and Kyu rank promotion tests for adults and children. The organization provides certification for successful Kyu-rank promotions through the students' Dojo-cho. Doshinkai Aikido International issues Dan certificates. A Black Belt Committee for the DAI is composed of Aikido instructors, ranked sandan (third degree black belt) and above, who are appointed by Utada Sensei. DAI Events The DAI Headquarters, Doshinkan Dojo, in Philadephia offers: Daily Instruction, Training Seminars, National and Regional Training Camps, Instructor Training, Weapons Training and DVD instruction.
